BBC Sportscene pundit spots Stephen Kingsley trying to fight Rangers star Alfredo Morelos in 3-0 v Hearts
BBC Sportscene pundit Richard Foster spotted an incident in Rangers’ 3-0 triumph over Hearts with the home side’s defender Steven Kingsley trying to “fight” with Gers striker Alfredo Morelos in the lead-up to the first goal.
The Light Blues continued their stunning form under Michael Beale, picking up their sixth victory in a row in all competitions, and continuing their unbeaten streak since the former QPR manager’s appointment.
Two goals from Morelos and a Malik Tillman strike was enough to seal a comfortable three points as the Gers continue to sit nine points behind Celtic in the table, but pundit Foster spotted an incident which highlighted Morelos’ dominance.

Rangers played a quick free-kick, which Kent dribbled past Garang Kuol inside the box standing up a cross to the back post where Morelos towered above the Hearts defence to unleash a bullet header past Zander Clark.
And Foster spotted the Hearts’ slack defending on BBC Sportscene Scottish Premiership Highlights [1 February, 12m53s]. He said: “It’s great from Kent 1v1 but if you look in the middle, I think it’s Kingsley that’s marking Morelos, and he tries to get into a fight with him, and you’re never going to win that battle.”
Dominant
The Colombian hitman continued his stunning hot streak under Michael Beale, bagging his sixth goal since his appointment, and Hearts defender Kingsley will really not want to look at that goal again.
The 26-year-old forward bullied the Hearts defence all evening and his strength and willingness to get on the end of Ryan Kent’s superb cross just highlighted the forward’s menacing quality in the penalty area.

With the player out of contract at the end of the season, Beale will be desperate to tie him down to a new deal as Morelos still has a huge part to play in the managers’ pursuit of toppling Celtic in the future.
The Ibrox ace has enjoyed a terrific spell under Beale’s management, forming a devastating attacking quartet with Fashion Sakala, Malik Tillman and Kent which will prove vital in the Gers’ future ambitions.
It’s hugely important the club convince Morelos to remain at Ibrox. Something exciting is brewing in Glasgow.
