Rangers player ratings v Hearts: Malik Tillman quiet, Glen Kamara unplayable

Rangers produced their most dominant performance to date under Michael Beale as they dismantled Hearts 3-0 at Tynecastle.

Two goals from Alfredo Morelos and one from Malik Tillman saw the Light Blues cruise to another three points and maintain their unbeaten record under Beale.

Here Ibrox News rates the players out of ten for their performances in the capital.

rangers

Allan McGregor – 6

Fairly routine night for the veteran keeper. Made an excellent stop to deny Barrie McKay in the first half after a quick break from the hosts. Relatively untroubled throughout.

James Tavernier – 6

Solid performance from the Gers’ skipper. Didn’t make any mishaps defensively and also provided an attacking threat. Produced a couple of brilliant deliveries into the box, particularly in the first half. Played his part in some of the best football we’ve seen to date under Beale.

Connor Goldson – 7

Hearts did carry a threat on the counterattack but Goldson didn’t put a foot wrong defensively and his partnership with Ben Davies is now proving to be a large part of the Gers’ success. Produced a couple of trademark diagonal passes as well.

rangers

Ben Davies – 7

Much like Goldson, Davies was relatively untroubled from what could’ve been a dangerous Hearts front line. Has a good sense of when to play and when to clear his lines. Beale has to persist with this central defensive partnership – it’s reaping rewards.

Borna Barisic6

A solid display from the Croatian who caused havoc with his crossing in the first half. Dealt with the host’s pacy attack well. Confidence booster for the left-back. Only scores a six because of how impressive his teammates were.

rangers

John Lundstram – 8

The most dominant John Lundstram has been in a long time. Hearts’ midfield didn’t have a chance against the former Sheffield United man. He won every single ball in the middle of the part and used his athleticism perfectly. Lundstram and Kamara have laid down the marker to Ryan Jack and new boy Nicolas Raskin.

Glen Kamara – 9

It was very hard to call between the Finland international and Lundstram. They worked so well with each other and Kamara’s quick feet in tight spaces was a pleasure to watch at times. Looked to break the lines and seemed like the Kamara of old. He’s definitely given Beale something to think about moving forward. Raskin’s arrival could well have been a sign for Kamara to up his performance levels. Made it look easy.

rangers

Malik Tillman – 6

Good first-half performance from the American, but he faded in the second period. Hearts’ defence couldn’t deal with his dribbling ability and passing range in the first period. However, he was slightly anonymous in the second half, potentially due to the game losing its edge. This was by no means a bad display from Tillman but there were better out there for Rangers.

Ryan Kent – 7

Caused Robbie Neilson’s side all sorts of problems. Drifted across the front four positions and it was clear he was playing with plenty of confidence throughout. Will be disappointed with a second-half dive, which was the only blot on his night’s work.

Rangers

Fashion Sakala – 8

Excellent from Sakala who thrived in a central role. The hosts couldn’t deal with his pace and trickery all night long. Was involved in lots of good things going forward and has seemingly made himself a guaranteed starter under the new Rangers boss.

Alfredo Morelos – 7

Probably could’ve had a hat trick if his finishing had been on point. Had a poor moment when he strayed offside in the first half but still recovered and produced a clinical centre-forward performance. Confidence will be sky-high after his recent goalscoring form.
