Rangers: Michael Beale frustrated on deadline day after late transfer push
Michael Beale was left fumed on deadline day as Rangers failed in their attempts to sign the Englishman the centre-back he craves, according to Scottish Daily Mail – pg 65. (1 February)
Rangers did however get the signing of midfielder Nicolas Raskin over the line, something the Gers faithful have been craving for some time.
The report claims that Beale will also be looking to sign a new goalkeeper and number nine in the summer and hopes to make Malik Tillman’s move to Ibrox a permanent one.

“Last night, Beale was becoming frustrated in his attempts to sign a centre-half, with that issue looking set to drag on until the summer,” as quoted by the Scottish Daily Mail – pg 65. (1 February)
“He has already stated that he hopes to sign a No 9 and a goalkeeper then, and is keen to ensure that Malik Tillman’s loan move from Bayern Munich becomes permanent.”

Priorities.
Signing Todd Cantwell and Raskin is nice and they will undoubtedly bolster this Rangers side under Beale but areas of concern still haven’t been addressed.
Rangers should have gone all out for a new goalkeeper and striker alongside these two signings this month, something which they have failed to do.
Will the board really back Beale in the summer? The coach has been vocal ever since his arrival about the signings he needs at the club.
It was thought this may spring the hierarchy into some action this month and the two signings just seem like a bit of a letdown yet again.
The lack of transfer business is only making Rangers the second-best side in Scotland by an even bigger margin and it’s impossible to compete with Celtic if this continues to happen.
Beale’s winning record has done him absolutely no favours here, he’s done terrific with a squad that has run its course and needs investment.
Unfortunately, wins are the only proof the Rangers board needs to continue to shy away from transfer dealings.
