Nicolas Raskin more likely to start on bench for Rangers v Hearts
Nicolas Raskin is more likely to take a seat on the Rangers bench for their Scottish Premiership clash with Hearts on Wednesday 01 February, according to the Daily Record.
The newspaper reported in its print edition [01 February, pg. 51] that an appearance off the bench rather than the Belgian starting the game is more likely.
That is because Raskin has not kicked a first-team ball for nearly two and a half months after his falling out back at Standard Liege with Ronny Deila over his contract row.

Writing in their latest edition ahead of the showdown at Tynecastle, the Daily Record shared what the travelling fans can expect from their new man.
“The Ibrox support will be hoping for a first glimpse of their new star at Tynecastle in tonight’s third-v-second clash with Hearts,” they wrote.
“But given Raskin has not kicked a first-team ball for two and a half months after being jettisoned from Liege boss Ronny Deila’s squad amid a contract row, it seems the best fans can hope for will be an appearance off the bench.”

Cameo.
It only took Michael Beale a couple of months to realise that a new midfielder was begging out for this squad.
Raskin has been tracked for some time now, and probably was being looked at when Beale was under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox, so it made complete sense to get this one done.
A younger player with legs and that flair in the middle of the park is different to John Lundstram and Ryan Jack, and it could see Steven Davis moving on at the end of the season and his contract.
Given that Raskin has literally only just touched down in Glasgow in the past 48 hours, it is unlikely that he will even be in the squad tonight, but Beale could throw him on the bench for good measure.
Todd Cantwell did start against St Johnstone last time out in his debut, so nothing is ruled out, and we would never complain at seeing our shiny new toy make that role his own already.
