St Mirren make transfer deadline day bid for Rangers midfielder Alex Lowry

St Mirren have reportedly made a bid to sign Rangers midfielder Alex Lowry on loan ahead of the 11pm deadline on 31 January.

According to the Scottish Sun [15:53 on 31 January], the SPFL side have left it late in the window but have made a last-gasp loan offer for the 19-year-old.

Rangers are now locked in talks with St Mirren and are ironing out the possibility of allowing him to leave on loan.

Make it happen

It’ll be good for Lowry if he moves to a smaller club but in the same league as Gers so they can keep tabs on his performances every week.

He will also be featuring against the same opponents that they do and it’s a good way for him to improve his quality.

He can also audition for a first-team role next season and good performances at St Mirren could go a long way towards achieving that.

Michael Beale surely will have no problem giving him chances with the senior side if he proves that he’s up to the task in the SPFL.

We’re hoping that this one goes ahead even though they’ve waited a tad too long to submit an opening offer.

However, these things do happen on transfer deadline day and there seems to be enough time to talk it out and send the paperwork to get the deal over the line.

Lowry also should not mind the move as he knows it’s the best thing for his development and it will also give him regular game time.

In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
