Spotted: Nicolas Raskin poses for pictures with Rangers fans outside Ibrox ahead of transfer

Nicolas Raskin has posed for pictures with Rangers fans outside Ibrox as he edges closer to joining the Glasgow giants on the transfer deadline day.

The 21-year-old midfielder was frozen out at Standard Liege, and he was desperate to join the Gers this month.

Rangers had two bids rejected for the player, but they persisted and eventually reached an agreement. He will be officially announced later today.

“Raskin outside Ibrox,” tweeted one fan with the images attached.

The club focused on bolstering the attacking midfield areas, and they have got two quality players this month.

Todd Cantwell joined from Norwich City this month. The 24-year-old has proved himself in the Premier League in the past, and he could become a transfer masterstroke from Michael Beale if he can recapture his old form.

Raskin is a quality young talent. The Belgian prodigy was left out in the cold after contract extension talks stalled. He refused to sign an extension at the club, and Rangers pounced on the opportunity.

The Gers have a wealth of midfield options but they lack creativity and guile in the middle, something Raskin can provide.

Beale hinted earlier this week that Rangers could look to bring one defender before the end of the window, so there’s a possibility that another player could arrive after Raskin.
