Rangers transfer update as journalist shares Morgan Whittaker news
The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell has shared that Rangers’ transfer move for Swansea forward Morgan Whittaker is “definitely dead” in the water.
Campbell reports that the player was keen on a move to Ibrox but doesn’t expect him to leave the Swans as the transfer window comes to an end.
Swansea are short on numbers and the club’s board want to utilise Whittaker because of this, making any deal improbable before the deadline at midnight.
“Morgan Whittaker to Rangers definitely dead I’m told. Not expecting him to leave Swansea at all this window,” said Campbell on Twitter. (31 January, 9:28 AM)
“Player was very keen on the move to Ibrox over all other options but Swansea are short on numbers and their board want him used.”

Feel for Whittaker.
With the player having his heart set on a move to Rangers and Ibrox it’s beyond annoying that Swansea just isn’t willing to let him leave.
And to get this news on the last day of the transfer window, when the club realistically can’t target someone else as back up makes the situation even worse.
Should fans be happy with two signings this window? Todd Cantwell could be a shrewd acquisition and whilst Nicolas Raskin has yet to be confirmed, it’s likely he’ll be joining today. (31 January)
Many would argue that the Gers needed more from the club’s hierarchy during this window and two signings simply aren’t good enough in the grand scheme of things.
Unfortunately, today feels like it will be Raskin and Raskin only from Rangers, who is actually a very solid signing for the club moving forward.
Whether or not this has actually been a successful window or not will become clearer in the next couple of months, one thing is for sure though, Beale must be backed more in the summer.
