David Edgar shares late deadline-day Rangers update after done deal for Nicolas Raskin
Rangers are unlikely to sign any more players on the transfer deadline day after completing the signing of Nicolas Raskin, according to David Edgar.
Michael Beale hinted that the Gers could look to sign a defender in the closing stages of the window but Edgar, the man behind the Heart & Hand Podcast, who are the official partner of the club, made it clear on Twitter by saying “my info is” that the Raskin deal will be the last of the window.
The Bears boss is happy with the squad and he prefers to focus on targets for the summer window. He is not looking for a short-term fix.
“My info is that Raskin deal will be the last one of this window for Rangers. Beale happy with squad and would prefer to focus on targets for summer rather than any last minute short-term fixes. Club was working on a few but Raskin was priority,” wrote Edgar on Twitter.
Expected
That’s it. The end of the January window for Rangers, and it’s a great one to be fair.
Beale focused on bolstering the midfield mainly, and he got two very good players.
There were suggestions that a striker could be added but Rangers don’t need to add any more forward to their ranks, especially with Alfredo Morelos staying until the end of the season.
The defence is one area where Beale could have added one more player but he should be happy with the ones he has got. With John Souttar returning from injury, Beale can count on him.

Todd Cantwell joined the Gers from Norwich City, and he will be fighting with the likes of Ryan Kent and Malik Tillman for regular starting place.
Raskin is a quality addition. The 21-year-old has got huge potential and he will bring flair and creativity in the middle of the park.
Probably there won’t be any more business today unless the club decide to send Alex Lowry on loan.
In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
