Rangers to complete signing of Nicolas Raskin on Monday, fee agreed with Standard Liege
Rangers have agreed a fee with Standard Liege to sign Nicolas Raskin before Tuesday’s transfer deadline, according to HLN.
The Gers have been keen to sign Raskin all month to bolster their midfield options, but had seen bids rejected as the Belgian club looked for a substantial fee to let him leave before his contract expired this summer.
According to HLN (30 Jan, 7:44am), Rangers made three bids that were all rejected but they eventually found an agreement overnight and a deal is now expected to be completed on Monday (30 January).

“The transfer of Nicolas Raskin to Rangers FC is completed today,” they wrote.
“This weekend, the Rouches rejected a second and third offer from the Scottish top club, but an agreement was still found late last night.
“The 21-year-old midfielder, who will end his contract in the summer, has had an agreement in principle with Rangers for some time.”
Finally
There had been plenty of speculation over recent weeks, but it always seemed likely that an agreement would be found to bring the young midfielder to Ibrox this month.
Michael Beale has spoken about a lack of creativity in the side, and Raskin offers a great passing range from a deeper position and will come in to compete with Glen Kamara, John Lundstram and Ryan Jack for a spot in the heart of the team.

Rangers are paying a minimal fee, although that hasn’t been disclosed, but considering the asking price and the offers that had been made already it seems likely that it won’t be much more than £1m.
That’s great business for a player that was wanted by Napoli too, and now the team is in a much stronger position for the second half of the season.
Beale has got his man and the board have backed him, so it’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the season goes now ahead of two cup runs and a push for the title with Celtic.
