Rangers need to go back to negotiating table after Nicolas Raskin bid

Rangers reportedly have to go back to the negotiating table after they submitted an opening offer for Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin.

According to Scottish Herald journalist Chris Jack [26 January], their bid was rejected by the Belgian club and it’s now time for the two clubs to find a price.

Raskin’s been a long-term target at Ibrox and Gers are believed to be keen on signing him in January.

Waiting for summer?

There’s a good chance that Ross Wilson is lowballing as he knows Raskin is keen on moving to Ibrox and will eventually in the summer.

It’s Liege who are at a disadvantage as they know if he does not get sold in the January window, he will be running down his contract.

Also, Raskin has fallen out of favour with the hierarchy there and they surely would not want him staying on for an extra six months.

Not only will they have a disgruntled figure in the team, but they will also be entitled to pay him his wages, which is not going to be something they do happily.

We do think that Rangers will come in with another bid but that’s not going to be what Liege want and they will still accept it.

Hopefully, that happens soon and if not, they move on to someone else because they do need another midfield signing this month.

In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
