Rangers in very strong position to seal Nicolas Raskin transfer

Rangers are reportedly in a very strong position to secure the services of Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin in January.

According to Rangers Review journalist Johnny McFarlane, Gers hold the upper hand as Raskin’s deal at the Belgian club expires in the summer.

This means that if they do not cash in on him this window, they will end him getting nothing in return for his services.

Via Twitter, McFarlane wrote, “Rangers are in a very strong position with Raskin. The player is frozen out in Belgium, so if a fee isn’t agreed Standard will miss out on that and have to pay his remaining salary wages. Very much in their interests to reach an agreement.”

Get it done

Rangers need to get this over the line as quickly as possible as the market for him will rise in the summer.

Liege want him out and will be open to accepting less money in order to part ways with him.

He has fallen out with people behind the scenes and there’s no way back for him at the club so anything they get for him to leave will be a bonus for them

Rangers

He will offer much-needed solidity to this Rangers midfield and that’s precisely what they need to mount a realistic title challenge.

Rangers have often left things until the last minute in the past and have missed out on players who perhaps could’ve turned their fortunes around.

They cannot afford to delay this one any further and it’s time they get their act together and pay up what Liege want in order to cash in on him.

In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
