Rangers midfielder Charlie McCann completes medical ahead of Forest Green Rovers transfer

Rangers midfielder Charlie McCann has reportedly completed his Forest Green Rovers medical as he is set to seal a permanent exit from the club.

According to Gloucestershire Live [24 January], he will be signing a three-and-a-half-year deal at the English club.

He was signed for £750,000 from Manchester United in 2021 but is now being sold at a loss for just £350,000 as he eyes regular first-team minutes.

Bad business

Ross Wilson surely deserves the blame for this one as he signed McCann for what seemed to be a good investment in a player who graduated from a big Premier League club.

However, as time has passed, it’s proven that it was a bad move by the club and it’s not just cost them transfer fees but also the wages that he was on.

It’s important that the decision makers do their due diligence before signing youngsters as this one has shown that it was bad business all around.

Seeing Manchester United on his CV should not be enough for Rangers to go out and buy him and it’s baffling to see them doing this.

Hopefully, McCann goes on to have a good career from here, but it’s important that Gers start making the right footballing decisions.

Michael Beale is soon going to be relying on the academy and he surely will not be impressed to see some of the best young players leaving.

In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
