Rangers transfer news coming in days as talks advance for Nicolas Raskin

Rangers are in advanced talks to sign Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin in January, according to Sacha Tavolieri on Thursday 19 January.

The Belgian journalist, who is followed by the likes of Dharmesh Sheth, shared that there is concrete interest to get a deal over the line from the Ibrox club.

Tavolieri confessed that more information and details are to come in the “next few days” as Ross Wilson and Michael Beale look set for a busy end to January.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Tavolieri shared the latest details surrounding the move for the young midfielder with more news coming soon.

“Things are moving for Nicolas Raskin,” he wrote.

“Concrete interest and advanced discussions with Rangers FC. More info and details in the next few days.”

Advanced.

This could be the perfect transfer for Rangers right now.

Beale has had more than enough time to evaluate his squad, and the base of his midfield is one area that has been crying out for reinforcements at Ibrox.

Steven Davis is ruled out long-term, and John Lundstram simply hasn’t been the same this season with Ryan Jack also a flight risk with injuries at this moment despite impressing.

Raskin is 21-years-old and has his entire career ahead of him compared to some of those already at Ibrox, and his contract is coming to an end in June 2023.

The Belgian has been unhappy for quite some time, with former Eurosport journalist Dean Jones saying he was put in the “shop window” back in December.

It is unknown whether or not it would be a pre-contract agreement for the summer or a cut-price deal now, but Beale is really putting his foot down in the market.

Bring it on.

In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
