Rangers transfer exit news as Kai Kennedy set for move to America

Rangers have been hit by an approach for Kai Kennedy by American side Tampa Bay Rowdies, according to the Daily Record on Thursday 19 January.

The newspaper has reported on its website that the Bears are set to recall the talented winger from his loan spell at Falkirk to make the move happen.

The 23-year-old has been sent around Scotland numerous times on different loan moves, although it is uncertain whether this switch would actually be permanent.

Sharing the news on the Daily Record live blog [19/01, 16:27], the reliable outlet shared that the exit was around the corner for the young winger.

“Rangers winger Kai Kennedy is set to sign for Tampa Bay Rowdies in the second tier in the USA,” he wrote.

“But Record Sport understands there has been an approach from Tampa Bay in the USL Championship.

“And Rangers are set to bring 23-year-old Kennedy back from The Falkirk Stadium and move him on to the States.”

Clear out.

Michael Beale has been busy this month already, and it isn’t just with incomings.

The constant rumours of Todd Cantwell, Morgan Whittaker and Nicolas Raskin have taken over now, but getting rid of some of the dead wood at Auchenhowie and elsewhere was critical.

Kennedy was once tipped to go to the very top at Ibrox, but that has never happened after his loan moves and there has to come a time when it becomes smarter to cut ties.

The winger will likely agree, and a clean start to go to America likely ticks a lot of boxes for him, on and off the pitch as the approach is made.

This one will likely go through quickly, and things will move on swiftly too with not much to remember the young winger by in terms of success.

With two weeks to go until the end of the transfer window, things are really about to start kicking on at Ibrox with more outgoings, as well as new signings expected.

In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
