Rangers on verge of sealing Todd Cantwell transfer with medical now scheduled
Rangers are reportedly on the verge of securing the services of Norwich City attacking midfielder Todd Cantwell in this window.
According to Football Scotland [19 January], the Englishman will undergo a weekend at the club over the weekend before he’s officially announced as a Gers player.
He’s already said his goodbyes at Carrow Road and is understood to have turned down interest from EFL Championship clubs as well as PSV to move to Ibrox.
The Michael Beale era at the club is well and truly started as they’re now set to bring in fresh faces and build this squad.
Cantwell may be out of form recently but his talent speaks wonders and he’s proven it in the Premier League – so there’s definitely something about him.
He was even linked with a move to Liverpool in the past and at 24, it can be argued that he’s still to hit his peak and will only get better at Ibrox.
Players tend to improve when they play regularly and we do see Beale putting him into his playing XI after bring him off the bench for a game or two.
Due to his contractual situation, Gers surely would have gotten a good deal to bring him to Ibrox – one that would make financial sense for Ross Wilson and co.
Hopefully, he won’t be the only name through the door from here on in as they need to make at least two more signings that strengthen the playing XI.
