Rangers can find Joe Aribo replacement in Swansea City attacker Morgan Whittaker, agreement could be reached
Swansea City have reportedly rejected an offer from Rangers for Morgan Whittaker – and the Gers simply have to come back in with an improved bid.
BBC Sport report (18 January) the Light Blues are currently well below the current asking price which has been set by Swansea’s American ownership.
However, it’s believed an agreement could well be reached between the Gers and the Championship club with there being 13 days left in the January window.
The Fourth Official have since suggested (Patreon, 17 January) Whittaker is looking to push through a move to Ibrox and that he wants a deal concluded as soon as possible.
This should be a no-brainer for Rangers. Whittaker has been one of the standout performers in League One whilst on loan at Plymouth Argyle with 16 goals and assists to his name. He can operate out wide and in a more central role, which is reminiscent of Joe Aribo before he made the move north of the border.
Aribo was 23 when he made the move to Ibrox and had registered 15 goals and assists for Charlton in the 2018/19 campaign before completing his free transfer to Rangers.

Whittaker is younger and has similar attacking numbers to the now Southampton man with just half the season gone.
Swansea are clearly looking to muster a decent fee for Whittaker and it’s up to the board to show their support for Michael Beale and get a deal over the line – he could well go on to make the Gers a decent sum of money in the future.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are expected to sign this “World Cup star” in January.
