Nicolas Raskin desperate to resurrect career with Rangers transfer in January

Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin is “desperate” to resurrect his career with a transfer to Rangers in January, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper has reported on its website that the Belgian maestro is firmly on the radar at Ibrox, and the Bears are now poised to make their move this month after Todd Cantwell.

It comes after Sacha Tavolieri reported on Thursday 19 January that Rangers were already in advanced talks with more information to come within days.

Writing in his latest column for the Scottish Sun, Andy Devlin shared the brand new update on numerous potential deals taking place at Ibrox this month.

“And it’s understood he could be joined in Glasgow by Belgian playmaker Nicolas Raskin,” he wrote. “SunSport understands the 21-year-old is firmly on Rangers’ radar.

“Rangers have continued to track his progress and are poised to finally make their move before the January transfer window closes. He is out of contract in the summer and looks increasingly likely to leave this month with Standard keen to sell.

“Like Cantwell, he is now desperate to resurrect his career at Rangers.”

Get it done.

Ross Wilson has really put his foot on the gas this week after a quiet opening fortnight to January.

Cantwell appears to be the first face to arrive at Ibrox, and the floodgates will well and truly open after that with other faces targeted to come in and make a difference.

If those deals can get finalised within days, we could see even more new faces arrive between now and January 31 as the deadline looks set to appear out of nowhere.

The midfield is clearly the one area that has been targeted this month, although another striker could be needed too, with Antonio Colak struggling with injuries.

Cantwell is that creative central spark which may have been missing, and Raskin is the number six that the club has been crying out for years, as he can come in and control games even further.

All eyes are on this now, with a quickfire double transfer on the cards.

In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
