Rangers submit official bid for Morgan Whittaker, player wants to join – Fabrizio Romano
Rangers have submitted an official bid for Swansea striker Morgan Whittaker and the player wants to make the deal happen, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Whittaker is currently on loan at League One club Plymouth Argyle and has netted nine goals in 31 appearances so far this season.
That has attracted the attention of Michael Beale and Rangers, and the player is keen to make the move to Ibrox happen according to the reliable Romano.
“Understand Rangers have submitted an official bid for talented winger Morgan Whittaker of Swansea, negotiations now ongoing,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (17 January).
“Been told the player wants to leave and join Rangers — he wants to make this deal happen.”
Finally
It’s been a few weeks in the making but Rangers are finally starting to make their moves in this window.
Todd Cantwell is said to be close to signing for the club from Norwich this month, and with Beale insisting that we could see up to four new faces this seems like another one he was talking about.

The Sun previously reported on 16 January that Rangers had a six-figure bid rejected by the Welsh club, and with Romano reporting that talks are ongoing that obviously hasn’t put the Bears off yet.
At 22-years-old and able to play across the forward line he fits right into what Beale wants at the club with hungry, talented and versatile footballers who can fit straight in.
It’s also surely the end of the line for Alfredo Morelos at the club with Kemar Roofe and Antonio Colak already at Rangers, and the Colombian’s contract expiring in the summer, this seems like the club preparing for an exit.
In other Rangers news, an ex-FIFA official has given his verdict on the Ryan Kent controversy from the win over Aberdeen.
