Norwich grant Todd Cantwell permission to hold Rangers transfer talks, no serious roadblocks for transfer
Norwich have granted Todd Cantwell permission to speak further with Rangers as the Englishman edges closer to making a decision on his future, according to Football Scotland.
The Daily Record report (16 January) the Gers are yet to begin “active” contract talks with the 24-year-old midfielder.
However, Football Scotland have now revealed (17 January) the Championship club have given the midfielder the green light to hold further talks with the Gers, with the outcome of the transfer now solely down to whether he wants to move to Ibrox.

It’s understood that if Cantwell opts to move to Rangers there will be no “roadblocks” or “serious issues” preventing a deal be completed.
Edging closer
This is a move which is certainly edging closer to completion and the signing of Cantwell should excite Rangers’ fans. He’s a player with immense technical ability who has seen his career stall since the Canaries were relegated from the Premier League.
He’s been linked with big moves in the past and if Michael Beale gives the 24-year-old the platform to express himself, there’s no reason why he cannot go on to be a huge success at Ibrox.
The standard of the Scottish Premiership could allow Cantwell to rediscover his form and be a key player for the Gers as Beale looks to close the gap to Celtic at the top of the table.

Cantwell’s potential move to Ibrox doesn’t seem to be going away and it would not be a surprise to see the deal concluded before the January window slams shut.
With his contract up in the summer, now feels like the best time for the Gers to act, with there likely to be a whole host of clubs vying for the attacking midfielder when he becomes a free agent.
