Rangers make six-figure transfer offer for Swansea attacker Morgan Whittaker

Rangers have reportedly seen a six-figure bid for Swansea attacker Morgan Whittaker turned down as it does not meet the valuation.

According to the Scottish Sun [16 January], Gers’ offer was worth £900,000 while the Welsh club want £2million to part ways with him and want the cash now as his stock is on the rise.

The Englishman is believed to be highly rated at the Liberty Stadium and the Swansea attacker is not short on suitors with a number of clubs keen on securing his services after an impressive first half of the season at Plymouth on loan.

Make a move?

If Whittaker is what Gers want and if Michael Beale is fully behind this pursuit, then it makes sense to go out and secure his services.

Beale’s spent a decent amount of time in the Championship and has scouted players by having his side play against them.

He surely would have been informed of Whittaker’s ability by the scouting team at QPR as well and it seems like the 22-year-old is going to be a name that’s linked with a move to Ibrox.

It remains to be seen if Gers end up matching what the Championship club wants for Whittaker as often there are negotiations and the price is eventually brought down.

That said, if another club ends up making a bid in the region of what they’re looking for, Rangers will be under pressure to match it or miss out on the player altogether.

Having been criticised for not backing Giovanni van Bronckhorst, it will be bonkers if they do the same with Beale, who’s enjoyed a very good start to life at Ibrox.

In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
