Rangers injury news as Kemar Roofe set for X-ray today after Aberdeen win
Rangers face an anxious wait over the potential injury of forward Kemar Roofe who will undergo an X-ray today [Monday 16 January], according to the Guardian.
Roofe scored an extra-time winner for the Light Blues in their Scottish League Cup triumph over Aberdeen at Hampden Park but fell awkwardly on his shoulder and had to be removed from the game.
This latest setback for Roofe will be a tough pill for Michael Beale and Rangers fans to swallow with the fearsome forward only just returning from a spell on the sidelines.

“Roofe, who has endured a series of injury issues during his time at Ibrox, had to be removed after landing awkwardly on a shoulder,” as quoted by the Guardian.
“The forward will undergo an X-ray on Monday.”

Cruel blow.
Roofe displayed in his time on the Hampden pitch what he can offer to this Rangers team when he’s fit and firing and this latest setback is a cruel blow.
Beale reiterated the fact that the shoulder injury wasn’t a dislocation after the game so there is some hope that the injury isn’t as bad as first feared.
And with comings and goings aplenty planned for Ibrox in January and the summer, does Roofe deserve the chance to still be part of Beale’s plans?
Almost definitely, although this is hard to justify with the number of games he has missed due to injury, 56 to be exact in just over two years at the club.
This, however, is undermined by the big-game moments Roofe has provided the Gers with, goals against Celtic and in the Europa League quarter-final against Braga last season.
He’s one of the club’s finest attacking outlets and showed yet again in the Scottish League Cup semi-final just how important he can still be to this squad.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are expected to sign this “World Cup star” in January.
