Rangers battle LOSC Lille to sign Belgian defender Noah Sadiki

Rangers are reportedly locked in a three-horse race to secure the services of Anderlecht right-back Noah Sadiki in the January transfer window.

According to Jeunes Footeux [16 January], PSV are also keeping tabs on the 18-year-old Belgian whose deal runs out in June.

Gers sold Nathan Patterson a year ago for big money to Everton and are now looking to sign another player in the Scotland international’s position.

One for the future?

At 18, Sadiki surely is being targeted with long-term goals in mind and that’s not a bad thing at Rangers.

The club’s transfer policy under Ross Wilson has been criticised tremendously so if they’re getting a good deal for a player with huge potential, then they must go for it.

However, it’s important that the focus of the recruitment is not just on signing young players as the first team needs strengthening as well.

Michael Beale cannot be loyal to players he used to consider his friends back during his first stint at the club with Steven Gerrard calling the shots.

There are certain senior players that are on the decline and are not showing any signs of turning things around and performing to their level.

Rather than allowing them a few more months to prove their worth, Beale’s got to take some big decisions, sell them and sign young and promising players like Sadiki.

In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
