BBC Scotland pundits mock ‘sluggish’ Alfredo Morelos in first half of Rangers v Aberdeen
BBC Scotland pundit Neil McCann mocked Alfredo Morelos in the first half of Rangers Scottish League Cup semi-final clash v Aberdeen.
Morelos has faced a mountain of criticism in recent months and was in the headlines again this week after Aberdeen skipper Anthony Stewart claimed he’d rather play against him than Antonio Colak.
McCann branded Morelos as “sluggish” and “slack” in the first half of the game after the Columbian misplaced a simple two-yard pass adding fuel to the fire of Stewarts claims.

“It’s just little things like that that can offer encouragement to the opposition, it’s a poor ball from Morelos,” said BBC Scotland pundit Willie Miller (BBC Radio Scotland, 15 January, 03:14pm).
“It’s just slack again from Morelos, a simple two-yard pass, all he’s got to do is find his man, sometimes in games, he starts in a sluggish manner I wondered if he’d be fired up by Stewart,” replied McCann.

The end is nigh.
With his contract coming to end this summer and zero signs of any agreement in place to extend, it seems Morelos’ love affair with Ibrox may be up.
And the forward leaving the club in search of new opportunities is probably the best solution for all parties involved, he isn’t the player he once was.
Yes, he has provided the Gers faithful with some memorable moments over the years but in the here and now he simply isn’t playing well enough.
Misplaced passes and half-hearted efforts have become an all too common theme for the forward this season and it’s frustrating to watch.
Colak when fit and firing has to be Michael Beale’s choice to lead his frontline in the seasons to come and hopefully, Beale will recruit some solid competition for the Croatian in the summer.
It’s been a very fun ride Alfredo, but it’s time to move on.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are expected to sign this “World Cup star” in January.
