Everton want permanent Tom Davies exit as Rangers weigh up move
Everton want Tom Davies to leave Goodison Park permanently as Rangers weigh up making an approach for the 24-year-old, according to the Daily Record.
Michael Beale wants to sign a midfielder in the January window and the Fourth Official (9 January) suggest there is interest from the Gers in the Everton man. However, it’s understood no official approach has been made as of yet.
The Daily Record have since suggested (15 January) that Everton would rather sell Davies than send him out on loan for the second half of the season. The 24-year-old is believed to be on £25,000-a-week at Goodison Park which could make a move difficult for the Gers to complete.

Tough task
A move for Davies looks like a hard one for the board to pursue. Despite Everton struggling at the moment, their finances allow them to pay their fringe players far more than Rangers can afford and it’s unlikely the 24-year-old will want to take a significant pay cut to move north of the border.
Although, It’s certainly a move he should be considering. He’s out of contract in the summer and has seen his career come to a standstill. Everton are a club in turmoil at present and a move to the Scottish Premiership could provide him with a platform to get his career back on track.

Beale has also been looking into a move for Norwich City attacker Todd Cantwell. The attacking midfielder has struggled for form in the 2022/23 season but is certainly a talented player who could easily make an impact in the future, should he make the move to Ibrox.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are expected to sign this “World Cup star” in January.
