Alexi Pitu would ‘love’ Ianis Hagi reunion amid Rangers transfer links
FCV Farul Constanta winger Alexi Pitu would love to play with Ianis Hagi once again as Rangers reportedly eye the 20-year-old attacker.
Football transfers reported (11 January) the Gers were monitoring the Romanian under-21 international along with a number of Premier League clubs.
Pitu played with Hagi whilst they were both at Constanta and he’s admitted he would welcome the chance to reunite with the Rangers star.

“Yes, I would very much love to play with Ianis again, but first I want to win the title with Farul Constanta,” said Pitu (quoted by the Daily Record, 15 January).
“I focus on football, I do my training and in the matches, I try to give my best. I understand the interest in playing with Ianis at Rangers and of course, it would be very nice. But I’m still a Farul player and I need to concentrate only on the important matches we have coming up this season.”
Interesting
The initial links to the Romanian attacker seemed quite far-fetched, however, there could well be some substance to the rumour now he has spoken out. He is out of contract in the summer of 2023 and could well be a long-term project for the Gers, should he make the move to Ibrox.

Rangers are well-stocked when it comes to wingers, and if Pitu did move to Ibrox it’s likely he would be a fringe player initially. If Ryan Kent’s contract cannot be rectified in the next couple of months Michael Beale will be looking to bring in an adequate replacement for the former Liverpool man.
It would not be a surprise to see younger players come through the door at Ibrox now Beale is in charge. He has developed as a coach in academy systems and was eager to give younger players a chance during his short stint as Queen’s Park Rangers boss.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are expected to sign this “World Cup star” in January.
