Michael Beale confirms Alex Lowry not leaving Rangers in January
Michael Beale has confirmed that Alex Lowry is not leaving Rangers in the January window.
Ross County manager Malky Mackay said on 12 January that the club are close to signing a player this month, and a Ross County fan account on Twitter sparked rumours that the player in question is Lowry.
Ahead of Rangers’ Scottish League Cup clash against Aberdeen on Sunday (15 January), Beale has insisted that none of his players around the first-team are going out at the moment, and that includes Lowry as well.
Rangers official media partner, Heart and Hand Podcast, also shared on Twitter (13 January) that Lowry is not leaving the Bears on loan this month.
“Lowry not going on loan according to Michael Beale,” wrote Heart and Hand.
Never going to happen
Lowry didn’t feature in recent games after he picked up a minor injury in the game against Motherwell.
The club consider him a top young talent and he is definitely in Beale’s plans.
He is a fabulous talent but has gone through too many injury problems already, which is a concern for the club.
Obviously, a case can be made that he may need to go elsewhere to play regularly for a while, but Beale has other plans.

He is too good a player to be playing for the Lowland League. He belongs to the Premiership level, and that’s why he should be a part of Beale’s team for the rest of the season.
Lowry has developed into a quality midfielder in the past 12 months or so, but his injury records are really bothering at the moment.
Beale has got a wealth of options in midfield, but Lowry still brings something extra to the side. Capable of finding the killer pass, he has all the potential to be a class player in the future, provided he keeps himself injury free.
In other Rangers news, Beale’s two-pronged January transfer pursuit has seen contrasting developments to it.
