Floodgates could open after Todd Cantwell in Rangers transfer news
The floodgates could now open at Rangers as they look to make Norwich playmaker Todd Cantwell their first January transfer, according to the Daily Record.
It has been reported by the newspaper on their website that talks are ongoing at Ibrox over the England under-21 international in the winter window.
Michael Beale is looking to strengthen his side to cut the nine-point deficit to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership and also pick up domestic cup silverware along the way.

Writing in his latest column for the Daily Record, Mark Pirie shared that the doors could happen with a big second half of the season needed in Glasgow.
“The England under-21 cap is understood to be in talks about a move to the Scottish Premiership side as Michael Beale looks to land his first signing as Ibrox boss, with Cantwell looking to kickstart his career north of the border after a disappointing 18 months in the English Championship,” he wrote.
“It could open the floodgates at Ibrox as Beale looks to catch league leaders Celtic this term, as well as enjoy success in the Viaplay Cup and Scottish Cup.”

Yes, please.
Cantwell would be a great addition to the side, but he has to be the first, not the last.
Beale bringing in these young English talents could be a blessing, as they look to really kickstart their careers yet again after something didn’t quite go right.
This is a player who has once dismantled Manchester City single-handily, so if given the right platform, he could be a superstar in Scotland, and more importantly, increase his value dramatically.
There is a clear hole in that central midfield role right now, and it is the lack of attacking impetus with the likes of Tom Lawrence struggling with injury issues.
John Lundstram, Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara are not in the side to score goals every week, but they must create chances and get forward to break teams down.
Now, imagine Cantwell in that role ahead of them and it all makes sense for Beale who will be itching to get this one over the line at Ibrox, with all eyes now on this one.
