Tam McManus shares his verdict on Rangers transfer move for Todd Cantwell
Tam McManus has shared his verdict on Rangers’ potential transfer move for Norwich midfielder Todd Cantwell.
The Norwich City star has been heavily linked with a move to Ibrox [Sky Sports] in a bid to revive his career in the Scottish Premiership.
Speaking on the PLZ Soccer YouTube podcast (10 January) McManus confessed that Rangers need “energy and a bit of legs” in their engine room, something Cantwell would provide.

“In the middle of the pitch they have Lundstram, Arfield, Jack, Davis and they are all experienced players. I think they need a bit of energy and a bit of legs,” said McManus on the PLZ Soccer YouTube channel (10 January).
“I think both of them would bring that. Listen, I think both have been linked for about a week and Michael Beale has not dismissed it, so I think there is definitely something in it.”
Exciting.
Cantwell is an exciting prospect and it will be extremely interesting to see what Beale will be able to do with the maestro in his engine room ranks.

Sky Sports reportedon 10 January that the Gers are indeed interested in bringing Cantwell to Ibrox, something to get the Gers’ faithful tongues wagging.
His ability to transition the ball from the midfield into attacking chances may be his most mouth-watering trait and it’s something the Gers’ midfield desperately needs.
Beale has said that he wants to bring in a host of talents to Ibrox and it looks like he will be getting his wish to do so, it’s the only way the Light Blues will improve.
This move seems like one set up to make Cantwell explode onto the Scottish Premiership scene and one the youngster will need to grab with both hands.
The maestro has proven he can mix it with the best when needed in the English Premier League and simply looks like a player needing some confidence.
All in all this one is a low-risk transfer for the Gers, if they can secure Cantwell for a decent price then this one seems like a perfect bit of transfer business.
