Juan Alegria returns to Rangers as Falkirk loan deal is terminated early
Rangers young striker Juan Alegria has returned from his loan spell at Falkirk, the club have confirmed on Twitter [12 January].
The 20-year-old joined Falkirk on a season-long loan during the summer, but it appears that his loan deal has been cut short.
The Colombian striker managed six goals and three assists in 16 games this season in Scottish League One but hasn’t played since 23 December.
“Rangers Football Club can today confirm that Juan Alegria has returned from his loan spell at Falkirk,” shared by Rangers B and Academy.
Another loan?
It’s not clear why the club decided to take him back from his loan spell.
His numbers looked good but it appears that his lack of game time in recent weeks probably has prompted the Gers to take him back.
We have to wait and see if he is sent on loan again to another club. The Colombian is a talented striker and he should be playing at a higher level if he moves out on loan again.
He has previously spent loan spells at Partick Thistle.
It is highly unlikely that Michael Beale will consider him as an option at this stage, but the youngster has got great potential.

Beale has got a wealth of options in the forward department at the moment, but it is still a bit problematic area for the club.
Rangers top scorer Antonio Colak has picked up another injury. Kemar Roofe has barely featured this season, and doubts remain over his long-term stay at the club.
Alfredo Morelos has shown signs of improvement under Beale but there is also a possibility that he could leave in January.
Unless Beale wants Alegria to develop by training with the senior team, the club should send him on loan elsewhere this month.
