Blackburn Rovers bid report rubbished as Rangers likelier to sign Norwich midfielder Todd Cantwell permanently

Blackburn Rovers have reportedly not made a bid yet for Rangers target and Norwich midfielder Todd Cantwell this month.

According to the Lancashire Telegraph [12 November], reports of them making a £1.5million bid are understood to be wide off the mark.

While Rangers can agree pre-contract terms before a move in the summer, they’re likely to secure the 24-year-old’s services on a permanent basis in January itself.

Good move

Cantwell is an industrious attacking midfielder who’s capable of playing in multiple positions.

Signing him would give Michael Beale the option of having someone who can be useful in different areas of the pitch and would give the side a much more fluid shape.

That is important if they’re looking to break teams down and are struggling to due to their low blocks.

Cantwell’s got the ability not just to find seemingly impossible passes but also can dribble past a couple of defenders and find openings for himself.

We’re hoping that the Gers board do not waste too much time trying to get this deal over the line as quickly as possible.

He will undoubtedly be a regular starter and would offer something that no player in the Gers team currently does, so is worth considering.

In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
