Jim White: Rangers in conversations to sign Todd Cantwell as Ibrox stance shared

Jim White has revealed conversations are ongoing at Rangers regarding Norwich midfielder Todd Cantwell as the Gers ready a move for the 24-year-old.

The 4th Official suggest the Light Blues could make a bid for the attacking midfielder “relatively shortly” with talks ongoing with the Championship side.

White has since revealed Cantwell is being discussed at Ibrox, with the Norwich man a good fit for the Gers’ “playing style”.

“Conversations going on within Rangers regards midfielder Todd Cantwell – said to fit Ibrox club’s playing style,” said the talkSPORT host (personal Twitter account, 10 January).

Get it done

If there’s a man who will be able to revive Cantwell’s career, it’s Michael Beale. The 24-year-old has seen his career take a downward spiral over the past year and Beale will likely be relishing the opportunity to get the promising midfielder back to his best form.

He has the potential to be a Premier League player but definitely needs a move elsewhere to rebuild his confidence. The Scottish Premiership could be a good environment for Cantwell to express himself and also help Rangers in the process.

Rangers

Rangers appear to be seriously considering a move for the Norwich midfielder and it will be interesting to see if they can strike a deal with the Championship side. His time at Carrow Road is definitely coming to an end and it will ultimately be up to the 24-year-old to determine where his future lies.

This is certainly one for the Ibrox faithful to keep a keen eye on in the coming days.

In other Rangers news, a bid has been rejected as the Gers chase another target who appears to be headed straight towards the exit door, according to Sky Sports.
