Barry Ferguson shares Rangers transfer verdict after recent speculation

Barry Ferguson has shared his verdict on recent Rangers speculation linking the club with transfers for Todd Cantwell and Tom Davies.

Michael Beale spoke last week about adding two or three talents to his Rangers roster with the Norwich City star and Everton maestro’s names surfacing in recent days.

Ferguson shared his verdict on the matter and believes the short bites from Beale are a “good sign” that Rangers are ready to do some business in January.

“I like his soundbites and he’s saying the right things,” said Ferguson on Go Radio (9 January).

“If these two players are who he is chasing that’s a good sign for me. They’d improve Rangers.”

Cantwell close.

Vital Football revealed on 9 January that Cantwell was ready and waiting in Glasgow to have a medical for Rangers in what would be Beale’s first big signing.

And this could prove to be an extremely shrewd bit of business from the Light Blues for the maestro who was seen as one of the Premier League’s top young talents not so long ago.

The maestro is exactly the type of talent that Rangers need in their engine room, someone who can transition the ball with ease from the midfield to attack.

Ferguson isn’t wrong when he says that the signing would “improve” Rangers, especially in the absence of Tom Lawrence.

Cantwell will likely fill the void left by the Welshman since his injury, in behind Rangers’ attack, this is where he can be at his creative best.

With luck, Beale will be able to get the best out of Cantwell, the Englishman needs to rediscover some form and Ibrox may be the perfect place for him to do so.

This one is very exciting.

In other Rangers news, the Light Blues are prepared to go head-to-head with Old Firm rivals Celtic to sign this striker who shone at the World Cup.
