Brian Laudrup gives Rangers seal of approval as Todd Cantwell transfer speculation intensifies
Brian Laudrup hopes to see Todd Cantwell and Tom Davies at Rangers in the coming weeks and has given his “seal of approval” to a transfer to Ibrox.
The Gers are keen to strengthen in the winter window as Michael Beale looks to put his stamp on the squad after replacing Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the hot seat in December.
The English manager openly admitted the club were sounding out Cantwell and Everton outcast Davies after the 2-0 win against Dundee United on Sunday (8 January), and the Gers are now reportedly in advanced talks with the Norwich attacker [The 4th Official, 9 January].

Via his Scottish Daily Mail column, as per Football Scotland, former Rangers player Laudrup urged both players to make the move north of the border.
He said: “I’ve seen the recent links between Rangers and Todd Cantwell and Everton’s Tom Davies. I’m sure those players will be making calls just now, looking for advice and sounding out the situation.
“For any footballer, having the right people in your corner can make all the difference when it comes to a potentially life-changing decision.
“I might be biased, but I would always give Glasgow the seal of approval. Those who end up in the city will have an experience they won’t forget.”

Achievable targets
Rangers’ transfer links with both Davies and Cantwell throw up their own interesting questions.
Can the Norwich ace rediscover the form that made him one of the most exciting attackers in the Premier League just a few seasons ago? Are Davies’ injury days behind him? And how would both players fit into Beale’s side?
Cantwell seems the more likely transfer, with the Gers reportedly convinced they can agree a nominal fee for the versatile midfielder and advanced talks now taking place.
The 24-year-old could add an element of creativity to a currently sluggish Rangers midfield, and the Canaries player has the ability to post some big numbers when he’s at his free-flowing best.
Everton, meanwhile, may be unwilling to let Davies go in the winter window as they attempt to avoid relegation from the Premier League. They will surely have an eye on keeping hold of the 26-year-old, especially considering the recent injury to Alex Iwobi.
