Malik Tillman £6m decision surely made as Rangers look to land Todd Cantwell
Malik Tillman is a player who has impressed for Rangers since making a summer switch to Ibrox from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Michael Beale’s arrival at the club has seen the 20-year-old American put in a string of impressive performances and it’s believed the new boss is eager to make the attacking midfielder’s move permanent.
BILD journalist Christian Falk revealed (14 September) that Rangers have the option to buy Tillman for £6million when his loan agreement eventually comes to a close. However, the latest news to come out of Ibrox could indicate they may not be looking to splash the cash on the American.

The Sun report (8 January) the Gers are exploring the possibility of signing Norwich’s Todd Cantwell, with the attacking midfielder free to talk to new clubs as his contract is up in the summer.
The 24-year-old operates in a very similar position to Tillman and if the Light Blues do make a move, there’s a chance they won’t look to sign Tillman.

Cantwell being a free transfer is potentially far more appealing to the board at Ibrox, with there being no transfer fee involved. Tillman is certainly worth the £6million, but it remains unclear whether Rangers have that kind of money to spend in the summer window.
It would certainly be disappointing if the club don’t look to land Tillman in the summer. He’s got the potential to become a huge asset for the Scottish giants and has yet to develop fully. This is one to keep an eye on, with Cantwell’s mooted move to Ibrox potentially having a knock-on effect for the Bayern Munich loanee.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are expected to sign this “World Cup star” in January.
