BBC pundit blasts embarrassing Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos
James McFadden has put Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos on blast for not learning from his poor fitness issues earlier in the season.
The Colombian has been off it for a while and despite gaining playing time under Michael Beale, he still looks far from fit and firing.
And BBC pundit McFadden claimed that it must have been “embarrassing” for Morelos to have been deemed not fit enough to be part of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team earlier on in the campaign.

“He had the warning at the start of the season with Gio,” said McFadden on the Open Goal podcast.
“He said: ‘I can’t have him in the squad if he’s not fit’ and for a player that is embarrassing.
“If a manager says that then that’s all the motivation that a player needs.
“He might turn around and say ‘I’m training hard’ but if you watch a game back, and you see the strip is tight and you see the shape through the strip then you need to do more.”

Finished?
Is Morelos finished at Ibrox? Pundits and a large number of fans seem to think that the forward’s time in Scotland is coming to an end.
He has five goals and two assists in 17 appearances so far this season, not terrible numbers, but also not the terrific stats you need from your forward.
And let’s face it, he’s not done an awful lot in games to warrant him earning a new and improved contract, far from it actually.
The Colombian has been living off the fame and fortunes of his early seasons in Scotland with Rangers and it’s about time these tainted memories were given a wake-up call.
On current evidence he isn’t the guy to partner Antonio Colak for campaigns to come nor is he the man to challenge the Croatian for playing time in Beale’s starting XI.
To be fit and firing is the bare minimum to ask a footballer and the fact Morelos has failed to do this on multiple occasions says all you need to know so if he is to stand a chance of sticking around he better buck his ideas up.
