Alfredo Morelos disrespects teammates at Rangers as pundit rages over behind-the-scenes behaviour
Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is being “disrespectful” towards his teammates by not following the strict fitness standards set by his teammates, according to ex-player Derek Ferguson.
The Colombian forward has struggled to match the heights of the 2021/22 season this campaign, only registering five Scottish Premiership goals from 17 matches.
However, since Michael Beale’s appointment, the striker has registered two goals and an assist in five games.

Though, after the Old Firm Derby with Celtic [2 January], Morelos was supposedly referred to as a “fat boy” by the Bhoys full-back Gregg Taylor in reference to the many reports surrounding his weight and lack of fitness.
Speaking on Open Goal [5 January], Ferguson called out the forward’s disrespect towards his teammates for his poor fitness. He said: “Morelos is disrespectful to the rest of the players. They’re all in good nick, when they leave the training ground, they will all eat properly. They will drink properly. He’s not doing that. It’s disrespectful to the rest of the group.”
Shame
We are all accustomed to Morelos’ quality in a Rangers shirt. The Colombian can even be considered a cult figure for all the goals, iconic moments and impact he’s brought to the Ibrox Stadium – scoring over 100 goals.

On his day, Morelos is indeed the best striker in the whole of the Scottish Premiership and arguably one of the best on the continent, but his attitude and short fuse will always hold him back.
Which is a real shame, because this is a striker with a whole host of attacking qualities. A real talent blessed with excellent technical qualities along with his fox-in-the-box nature.
He could well have joined a much bigger club already had it not been for his past issues. If the forward aims to live up to his potential, he would need to cut out all the controversies.
