Rangers: Michael Beale ‘so keen’ on QPR striker Lyndon Dykes, contract offer shared
Michael Beale is “so keen” on Queen’s Park Rangers striker Lyndon Dykes as Rangers retain their interest in the striker, according to Dean Jones.
However, it’s been suggested that the West London club are looking to offer the 27-year-old a new contract to block a potential move to Ibrox.
The 26-cap Scotland international sees his current deal expire in the summer of 2024 and Jones has revealed the Gers’ are interested in the forward.

“Rangers are retaining their interest in QPR striker Lyndon Dykes as Beale is so keen on him,” the former Bleacher Report journalist told GIVEMESPORT (3 January).
“But now I’m hearing that the Hoops are offering him a new deal to try to make sure that move does not happen.”
Needed?
Dykes is certainly a good striker but whether he’s needed is certainly up for debate. Alfredo Morelos has come back into contention in recent weeks and Antonio Colak is returning from injury. The Croatian is likely to be Beale’s go-to frontman when he does eventually return to the starting eleven.
However, if the Gers lose Morelos when his contract does come to its conclusion then a move for Dykes certainly makes sense for Beale. He’s a combative number nine and a Scotland international which is a good fit for the Gers. Furthermore, the Rangers boss has previously worked with the striker during his time in West London.

It’s one to keep an eye on, particularly if questions continue to be raised over Morelos and Kemar Roofe’s future. January is the first chance for the Gers boss to add to his squad and potentially move players one who he doesn’t feel are suitable to take the club forward.
There are a number of players who will be out of contract in the summer and could be moved on in January in order for some new additions to come through the door.
In other Rangers news, a supercomputer has been crunching the numbers to predict a vital must-win game for Beale against Celtic.
