Journalist responds to Rangers fan as January transfer update emerges
Journalist Alan Nixon responded to a Rangers fan over Twitter who queried whether the club would be making any signings during the January transfer window.
With new head coach Michael Beale arriving at Ibrox, it was the general consensus that the Englishman will want to put his own stamp on things by bringing in his own targets.
Nixon confessed that Rangers do indeed need to make “four or five” signing’s before they can get things right but admitted this isn’t likely to happen in January.

“Going to take four or five before it’s right. But not sure you get that many this month,” said Nixon on Twitter.
To be fair, no fan is expecting four of five transfers this month but one or two would certainly go down a treat at Ibrox.

Overhaul.
The Rangers squad definitely needs an overhaul, something which will likely take place this summer, rather than the January transfer window.
But as the Old Firm proved on January 2, the team aren’t completely miles off it and making a few tweaks here and there should put them right back in contention.
Competing with Celtic on a domestic level has to be the short-term target for Beale and co, once that’s achieved the club can start plotting European ambitions.
Beale looks like he knows how to get the best out of this current crop of Gers talents which is promising for the next band of stars to emerge at Ibrox.
He’ll likely have a few players in mind already, it’s just whether Ross Wilson and the tight pursed stringed hierarchy will allow Beale the funds to start his actual project off with a bang.
With no news just yet on any incomings this month, fans will just have to sit back and wait to see what news emerges in the coming weeks.
In other Rangers news, a supercomputer has been crunching the numbers to predict a vital must-win game for Beale against Celtic.
