Chris Jack shares Rangers transfer verdict after Old Firm draw v Celtic

Chris Jack has insisted that an impending transfer overhaul is on the cards at Rangers after their latest 2-2 draw in the Old Firm clash with Celtic.

Goals from Ryan Kent and James Tavernier were not enough in the end after a late Kyogo sucker punch, but Michael Beale can be proud given the issues within the squad right now.

Jack shared that with at least three big-name players to return from injury, as well as further forays into the transfer market, the squad is set for a real boost at Ibrox.

Writing in his column for the Scottish Herald after the Ibrox encounter, Jack shared the latest and what is to come under Beale, mainly over the next month.

“Rangers need fresh faces and new ideas,” he wrote.

“The scale of the work required is not as great as it was when Beale first arrived at Ibrox alongside Steven Gerrard four-and-a-half years ago but the feeling of an impending overhaul is similar and the way in which the Englishman speaks about the task and the challenge tells its own story.

“Beale rhymed off a handful of players – including Ridvan Yilmaz, Ianis Hagi and Tom Lawrence – that he needs available sooner rather than later and the returns of the walking wounded, coupled with further forays into the transfer market, will have a positive impact on a squad and team that continue to underperform individually and as a collective.”

Rangers

Busy.

Ross Wilson needs to get himself into action sooner rather than later, with a really big month ahead of the Bears.

It will feel like two points dropped after that late goal yesterday, but it proved that a wounded Rangers side missing numerous key men can sweep a full-strength Celtic aside under Beale.

Imagine what he can do with this squad when those injured men return and two or three new faces are brought in during the January window, we already can’t wait.

It is critical that Beale chooses these players though, not Wilson, who has proved more than enough that he cannot be trusted at this level with some of his decisions.

Players are wanted to improve the starting XI immediately too, which is another top sign that Beale is eager to bring some big names in over the next four weeks.

It’s time to get busy, there is a huge second half of the season to come at Ibrox.
