Andy Walker and Ally McCoist blast Borna Barisic for Rangers v Celtic on Sky Sports
Andy Walker and Ally McCoist were left less than impressed with Borna Barisic in Rangers Old Firm clash v Celtic on Sky Sports.
The left-back was given the nod to start yet again by Michael Beale after making his return to the first XI against Motherwell after the FIFA World Cup.
Walker blasted Barisic for his “poor” delivery’s into the Celtic box in the first half after the Croatian hit a few iffy balls that didn’t reach their target.

“A couple of poor deliveries,” Walker said live on Sky Sports [January 2, 13:06].
“I wonder if he’s struggling with the weight of the ball, that’s four or five poor deliveries.”
Slightly unfair
Maybe it was the weight of the ball that was causing the miscues from Barisic or some nerves given his past performances in the Old Firm.
Whatever the case, Barisic has looked pretty solid since returning to the Gers first XI and will undoubtedly be keeping Adam Devine out of the team.

The Croatian’s balls into the box are usually deadly, as he proved against Motherwell on 28 December with a delightful assist for Alfredo Morelos.
His experience will be vital for Rangers to continue to chase down Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership and it’s always nice to have a player of his quality in the side.
And it seems Barisic has put some of his Old Firm demons to bed on January 2, something that was massively needed for him moving forward.
The defender seems to have the full backing of Beale and will likely be his first-choice left-back for the remainder of the season and possibly the next.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are looking to pounce for an in-form man in January as contract talks break down.
