Sir Kenny Dalglish predicts outcome of Rangers v Celtic
Rangers will take on Celtic in the Old Firm derby clash on Monday (2 January) and Kenny Dalglish has predicted a draw for this game.
The former great Scotland striker suggested on Sunday Post (1 January) that a “surprise” win for Michael Beale’s side will be seen as a sign of improvement.
However, Dalglish has warned that the Bears are involved in a “marathon” race and that they have a lot of catching up to do.

“I happen to think it will end in a score draw,” wrote Dalglish for the Sunday Post.
“That result might not be too bad for Rangers, considering the manager is not long in the door, and the last time the teams met Celtic won 4-0.
“The challenge for Rangers is to start moving at a pace that will give them a proper chance to compete.
“A surprise win tomorrow will be a sign of improvement, and a big step in the right direction under Michael.
“But they are involved in a marathon, not a sprint.”
Spot on
Rangers will have to head into this game believing that that title race is not over yet.
Celtic are in tremendous form at the moment, but the Bears have picked up momentum under Beale in recent games.
In the previous encounter, the Gers lost 4-0, but the situation has changed a lot. There is an air of excitement at Ibrox, and a victory on Monday will be massive for the club.
It gives them the chance to reduce the gap to six points.

In the long run, the club should strive to close the gap with their rivals and build a strong team that can challenge for the league title next season.
But that doesn’t mean, the Gers must forfeit the present campaign, as there are a lot of games left to be played yet.
Rangers will have to play exceptionally well to get a win from this game, but they are more than capable of doing it.
In other Rangers news, a £5million twist has emerged in Southampton’s bid to sign Ryan Kent.
