Rangers set to find out how relentless Celtic can be in Old Firm showdown – pundit
Tam McManus has sent a warning to Rangers ahead of their Scottish Premiership showdown against Celtic on 2 January at Ibrox.
The Hoops are currently nine points ahead of the Gers at the top of the table and are coming off a 4-0 away victory over Hibernian.
Michael Beale’s side have also put a run of wins together ahead of the clash at Ibrox, but McManus believes the Light Blues are about to find out how “incredibly hard” Ange Postecoglou’s side are to play against.
“Celtic relentless there. Strength in depth is frightening players they are bringing on when the opposition are tiring is scary. Incredibly hard to play against as Rangers are about to find out,” wrote the PLZ Football show pundit (via Twitter, 28 December).
Tough task
The Old Firm are both coming off comfortable victories and are in good form, which means the clash at Ibrox is shaping up to be an intriguing contest. The Light Blues are certainly in better shape than when they last faced Celtic, with far more of their players in form.
The pressure is on the Gers to take the game to their fierce rivals and really open up the title race heading into the second half of the season. A win for Celtic will make life extremely hard for Beale’s men, with the gap beginning to look insurmountable.

Rangers’ win against Motherwell wasn’t their finest performance, but there were a number of good individual displays which Beale can take solace from. Malik Tillman was unplayable at times, and it’s important he maintains the same level of quality and energy levels on 2 January.
Alfredo Morelos linked up well with the American, and ensuring he is heavily involved against Celtic will be important for the Gers.
In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
