Michael Beale can tempt Birmingham City midfielder Jobe Bellingham to join Rangers in January transfer window

Michael Beale could reportedly tempt Birmingham City midfielder Jobe Bellingham to join Rangers in the January transfer window.

According to Give Me Sport journalist Dean Jones [26 December], Rangers will have to give him an indication that they would not stand in his way if an offer from a big club arrives.

There have been clubs linked with him, but Jones claims that Beale’s presence at Ibrox could work in the club’s favour.

He said, “It’ll be interesting to hear more about what Rangers feel they can offer him because there would have to be some edge that they’d have that could give them the nod over him going to some of the big teams that are going to be in for him.

“But, certainly, Beale has something special about him that might be able to tempt someone like that to the club.”

Tough one

Being the brother of Jude Bellingham, and playing in a position similar to him, is not going to be something that can keep Jobe away from the headlines.

He’s also at the same club as his brother was before his move to Borussia Dortmund and big things are expected from the younger Bellingham brother as well.

At 17, he’s already established as a senior first-team player and has been linked with a move away from St Andrews due to his club as well as international form.

In September 2022, he won the Best Player of the Costa Calida Supercup award after guiding the England Under-18s to victory in all three games in order to win the competition. [Birmingham Live]

It remains to be seen if Beale can convince him to sign as there’s a very good chance he leaves for pastures new in the coming few years.

Whether the Gers boss will be willing to develop a player in order to make the club a profit, remains to be seen because he does have a penchant for working with youngsters.

In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
