Steven Davis news could see Rangers prioritise January transfer for Nicolas Raskin
Rangers could now be forced into signing another midfielder in January after Steven Davis’ news has emerged in the last 48 hours.
It’s understood that the 37-year-old’s Ibrox career may be over after he suffered an injury that keeps him out until the rest of the season.
With his contract expiring in the summer and given his age and fitness record, there’s a very good chance he’s not going to be handed a new deal.

Fabrizio Romano reported recently that the midfielder has been told to train separately from the first team as they will sort out his transfer in the January window.
This could make it a priority for Rangers to sign another midfielder in January and they may have to look no further than Nicolas Raskin.
He’s also turned down a contract extension at Standard Liege and surely will be open to offers from everywhere.
He can play in a deep-lying midfield position and can also be deployed in an attacking position so he will offer much-needed versatility to Rangers.
Daily Record reported on 18 November that Gers wanted to bring the 21-year-old to Ibrox in the January window.
Despite a change of manager, we believe that the circumstances of signing a new midfielder are still the same and after Davis’ season-ending injury, it may have even become a priority for them.
In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
