Rangers transfer raid on Canada on the cards as scouts report back to Ross Wilson – pundit
We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Rangers have a chance of signing World Cup players who were in the Canada squad in Qatar, according to Tam McManus.
The former Scotland youth striker believes that while the Gers are unlikely to have a go at signing players from top nations at the World Cup, they’ll be able to look at decent ones from some of the lesser ones at the tournament.
Ross Wilson will have been receiving feedback from scouts in the Middle East and McManus feels that Canada could be a team that the Gers took a good look at.

McManus has joked, however, that Argentine superstar Lionel Messi might be a bit too expensive for the Light Blues.
“There are a lot of players,” McManus said to Ibrox News when asked if there were any players at the World Cup Rangers might want to sign.
“The top teams are a bit out of reach for Rangers but I think maybe some of the other teams, say Canada, players aren’t terrible.
“For Rangers, there’s no doubt their scouting network will have been at games and getting back to Ross Wilson and Michael Beale.

“I’ll be surprised if they weren’t looking at players at the World Cup but I think Lionel Messi might be a bit out of their price range.”
Celtic have already confirmed the signing of Canada international Alistair Johnston from Montreal ahead of the January transfer window while the Gers have their own Canadian player already in Scott Arfield.
In other Rangers news, a £5million twist has emerged in Southampton’s bid to sign Ryan Kent.
