Rangers official partner reacts to Steven Davis news emerging from Ibrox

Heart and Hand believe that Rangers midfielder Steven Davis deserved to go out in a far better way after his recent injury.

The 37-year-old’s deal runs out at the end of the season and the chances are that he’s played his final game for the club as an injury will keep him out for the entirety of the 2022/23 campaign.

Davis has featured sparingly for Gers this season, making just three starts in the league.

Via Twitter, H&H, the club’s official partner, wrote, “He deserved to go out in a far, far better way than this. A genuine Hall of Famer and a proper legend.”

Icon at Ibrox

The feeling was that this was going to be the Northern Ireland international’s final season at Ibrox, given his age and minutes for the first team.

However, at the end of the campaign, there certainly would’ve been a farewell game and a proper sendoff for the midfielder, which now may not happen.

They may hold a testimonial at some point in time, but it will not be the same as receiving a guard of honour while stepping on and off the pitch.

Davis will forever be remembered for the good times at Ibrox and we will not be surprised to see him returning in a coaching capacity at some point in the future.

He’s spent close to a decade over two stints at the club and has become a beloved figure among the Ibrox faithful.

We hope that he can recover for at least a cameo in the final game of the season as that’s the bare minimum of what Rangers can do to honour his time at the club.

In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
