Finance guru details success of Rangers chief Doulas Park as £865m figure emerges
Douglas Park’s coach hire business has turned over £865million in 2022 as finance expert Kieran Maguire details the Rangers chief’s accounts.
The 72-year-old was re-elected as the Gers’ director at the AGM on 6 December despite Club 1872 voting against his re-appointment (Club 1872 website).
Maguire has since revealed (via Twitter, 24 December) Park’s of Hamilton’s financial statement from the past year with there being an increase of nearly £160million in turnover compared to 2021.
Wow
It’s safe to say Park’s business outside of Rangers seems to be going well. Many will see the huge figure and immediately be angered, but realistically, the £865million sum has little relevance to Rangers in the long run. The Light Blues are being run in a far more sustainable way now, and that’s what is most significant.
With Michael Beale now in charge, and a new era underway, fans will have to wait to cast further judgement on the board and their current levels of spending. The January window will be the first opportunity for them to flex their muscles with the new boss in charge and potentially spend some of the money which was not invested in the summer of 2022.

There are issues defensively which desperately need to be looked at if a serious title challenge is to be put together in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign. Even with the new man in charge, Rangers have looked fragile at the back, and have been somewhat lucky to come away from each fixture with three points.
