Rangers must move fast to seal deal for Nicolas Raskin
Rangers must decide “very quickly” if they want to pursue a move for Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin, according to Dean Jones.
According to Voetbal Nieuws (20 December), the Gers are fighting Barcelona and Leeds for the 21-year-old who has turned down a new contract at the Jupiler League club.
However, the former Bleacher Report journalist has suggested the club must decide soon whether they wish to push forward to sign the Belgium under-21 international.

“Rangers does have a different set-up now with the team and the management [after summer links], but it’s a conversation to be had,” Jones told GIVEMESPORT (23 December).
“There are other clubs looking at Raskin and Rangers have to decide very quickly if they’re to be in that conversation.”
Heating up
It appears this transfer saga is beginning to heat up and at the moment a move to Ibrox does seem unlikely for the attacking midfielder. Leeds and Barcelona have the ability to flex their financial muscles and blow the Gers out of the water for the 21-year-old.
Furthermore, Michael Beale would be better off giving Alex Lowry more game time instead of adding another player to his ranks. The youngster has always looked like an exciting prospect whenever he featured, and the Rangers boss should be looking to utilise him as much as possible in the second half of the 2022/23 season.

January promises to be an interesting month for the Light Blues, with additions required to try and salvage anything from their Scottish Premiership campaign. The comeback win against Aberdeen was thrilling, but it’s not a consistent way for the Gers to bridge the gap to Celtic at the top of the table.
Beale will have his targets, and it’s now up to the board to give the new boss as much support as they can.
In other Rangers news, a journalist has shared what he’s been told as a £6million bid is lined up for a Gers ace.
