Pundit reacts to Chris Sutton ‘disgrace’ at Rangers claim as Alfredo Morelos verdict shared
We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Tam McManus has backed Alfredo Morelos to continue improving at Rangers after Chris Sutton tore the Colombian striker to shreds for his form this term.
Speaking on BT Sport’s Scottish Football Extra last week (16 December), Sutton said that “Morelos, all season, has been a disgrace“.
Since the Scottish Premiership season returned, 26-year-old Morelos has played 90 minutes against both Hibernian and Aberdeen, scoring a winner against the former at Ibrox on 15 December.

Sutton clearly seems to think Morelos’ poor form under Giovanni van Bronckhorst was pretty unforgivable but with Michael Beale in charge, McManus has already seen improvements in the striker’s fitness.
He believes that as long as Morelos keeps on playing, he’ll continue to get better.
“You know what Chris Sutton’s like. He’s not shy,” McManus told Ibrox News.
“Morelos got the winning goal [against Hibs] but the manager will be looking for more out of his performances.
“Morelos has to play every week and the more he plays, the sharper he’ll be.

“He’s obviously had a break and he seems to have come on a bit in terms of his fitness.
“He played the whole of the games [against Hibs and Aberdeen] so they’ll be looking for more from him the fitter he gets.”
Morelos has scored four goals in 21 appearances across all competitions this season but his start against Aberdeen on Tuesday (20 December) was just his third Scottish Premiership start of the campaign.
In other Rangers news, a journalist has shared what he’s been told as a £6million bid is lined up for a Gers ace.
