Andy Walker smashes Ben Davies live on Sky Sports in Rangers game v Ross County
Andy Walker has heavily criticised Rangers defender Ben Davies for his performance in the 1-0 win against Ross County live on Sky Sports.
George Harmon had a glorious opportunity to put Ross County ahead, he was only five yards out and his header was superbly saved by Jon McLaughlin with an outstretched leg.
It was a “big moment” in the game and Walker has slammed Davies for being poor as he failed to clear his lines, allowing what could have been an opening goal.

“What a save that is. Poor from Ben Davies, he should be clearing his lines,” said Walker on Sky Sports [23 December, 19:50].
“Davies should have been able to clear it. Harmon does all he can, he’s well over Tavernier but McLaughlin makes himself big. A big moment in the game.
“He must have thought he was scoring there.”
Grabbing opportunities
Rangers arrived into the fixture on the back of consecutive 3-2 wins in the league, and they did dominate the opening exchanges.
Michael Beale made some bold decisions as he dropped Alfredo Morelos to the bench, while Davies returned to the starting line-up. Davies hasn’t looked convincing and luckily for the Gers, McLaughlin was there to prevent the danger.
Allan McGregor, the first-choice goalkeeper has missed the game due to sickness, and McLaughlin has proved that he can be a reliable backup option.

Davies returned to the squad after a long injury lay-off, and the rustiness in his game was clearly visible.
Despite the changes made by Beale, the attacking department looked blunt, and that’s partly because Scott Arfield wasn’t playing more centrally where he is most effective.
The Bears eventually got the breakthrough from John Lundstram whose powerful strike made the difference between the two sides, and the clean sheet will hopefully go a long way.
In other Rangers news, the club are now fancying their chances of major a January transfer after Fabrizio Romano’s update with a move on the cards.
